Furnace & Heating Repair in Sapulpa & the Tulsa Metro
Oklahoma winters can swing from mild to an ice storm in a day, and your furnace has to be ready. We repair gas furnaces of all major brands with upfront pricing and a $95 diagnostic that is waived when you go ahead with the repair.
Rising heating bills
If your gas bill keeps climbing without colder weather or a change in habits, your furnace may be losing efficiency.
Rattling, banging or screeching
Rattles can mean loose panels or parts. Screeching often points to the blower motor. A boom at startup can signal delayed ignition.
Yellow or flickering flame
Burner flames should be mostly steady and blue. A yellow or flickering flame can mean poor combustion and a carbon monoxide risk.
Uneven heat, short-cycling
Cold rooms, or a furnace that starts and stops every few minutes, can point to airflow, flame sensor or overheating problems.
Safety first: gas smells and carbon monoxide
If you smell gas (a rotten-egg odor), leave the house right away. Do not flip light switches, adjust the thermostat or start a car in an attached garage. Once you are outside and away from the house, call your gas company or 911.
If your carbon monoxide alarm goes off, get everyone into fresh air and call 911. CO has no smell, and symptoms like headache, dizziness and nausea can feel like the flu. After emergency crews say it is safe, call us to find and fix the cause before you use the furnace again.
What we check on a furnace repair
Our technician looks at the whole system, not just the part that stopped working. We test ignition and safety controls, look at the burner flame and check airflow through the filter and blower.
We also inspect the venting and the heat exchanger area for signs of trouble, since cracks or blocked vents can send combustion gases where they should not go. You get a plain explanation and a price before we fix anything.
- Igniters and flame sensors
- Gas valves, pressure switches and limit switches
- Inducer and blower motors
- Control boards and thermostat wiring
- Flue venting and condensate drains on high-efficiency furnaces
Why noises and short-cycling matter
A furnace that bangs or booms when it lights may have delayed ignition, where gas builds up for a moment before it catches. That is worth a call, not something to live with. Screeching usually comes from the blower motor and tends to get worse over time.
Short-cycling, when the furnace starts and stops every few minutes, wears out parts fast and leaves rooms uneven. A dirty filter, a dirty flame sensor, blocked airflow or a furnace that is too big for the house are common causes.
Ready before the next cold snap
The busiest heating calls come with the first hard freeze and during winter storms, when everyone needs help at once. A fall safety check and tune-up can catch weak parts while the weather is still mild.
If your furnace is getting old and repairs keep piling up, we will tell you straight and give you a free estimate on a replacement. Many homeowners also ask about heat pumps, or a dual-fuel setup that pairs a heat pump with a gas furnace.
Furnace & Heating Repair FAQ
Why is my furnace blowing cold air?
First, check that the thermostat is set to Heat and the fan is set to Auto. If the fan is set to On, the blower runs even when the burners are off. A clogged filter can make the furnace overheat and shut the burners down. Igniter, flame sensor and gas supply problems are also common. If the simple checks don't help, give us a call.
Is a yellow furnace flame dangerous?
It can be. A healthy gas furnace flame is mostly blue. A yellow, orange or flickering flame can mean the gas is not burning cleanly, which may produce carbon monoxide. Make sure your CO alarms work, and have the furnace checked soon. If a CO alarm sounds, get everyone outside and call 911.
How much does furnace repair cost?
Every furnace repair starts with a $95 diagnostic. Once we know the problem, we give you the repair price before any work starts. If you go ahead with the repair, the diagnostic fee is waived. Simple fixes like a flame sensor or igniter cost less than a motor or control board, so we quote after we see it.
How often should my furnace be serviced?
Once a year, ideally in the fall before you need heat. A tune-up and safety check covers the burners, ignition, safety switches, venting and airflow. It helps the furnace run efficiently and catches problems before a cold night. Our maintenance plans include seasonal tune-ups, so you don't have to remember to call.
Do you repair heat pumps and electric heat too?
Yes. Along with gas furnaces, we repair heat pumps, air handlers with electric heat strips and ductless systems. Heat pumps that ice up, get stuck in defrost or lean too hard on backup heat are common winter calls. Tell us what kind of system you have when you book so we can come prepared.
